Surrey AI community meetup is tomorrow. You coming?

So here's the thing.

Tomorrow night Tuesday, November 18 we're gathering at the Royal Canadian Legion in Surrey for AI Meetup #9. 6 PM. And I really hope you'll be there.

Matthew Schwartzman and I have been building this Surrey community for nine months now, and what started as a handful of curious folks meeting at the Legion has turned into something real. People are showing up with projects. With questions that keep them up at night. With ideas they can't quite articulate yet but know matter.

That's what tomorrow is about.

What's happening:

• Live conversations on what's actually happening in AI right now

• Q&As where no question is too basic or too wild

• Playful activities that get your brain working differently

• Networking with people who are building, learning, and figuring it out together

Who's there: Matthew who brings his connector energy and storytelling from Teen2Life. Me. And about 40 of your fellow AI explorers from Surrey and beyond. Veterans from the Legion hanging out at the bar. First-timers who just heard about AI last week. People mid-career pivoting. Students. Tinkerers.

A lot of the smartest people I know right now are showing up to these community gatherings. They're bringing half-formed ideas. They're asking for help. They're sharing what they learned. That's the vibe.

And listen—if cost is a barrier, reach out. We don't turn people away. This community works because people show up.

Why tomorrow matters: Because AI is moving fast, and if you're not in community with other people figuring this out, you're doing it on hard mode.

Because Surrey deserves its own AI hub its own thing with its own energy.

Because the Legion at 2290 152 St is more than just walls; it's a space with history, and we're writing the next chapter.

Matthew and I will be there early. Setting up. Ready to have real conversations about where this technology is going and what it means for all of us.
