The AI conversation out there is exhausting.

Hype people selling you the dream. Doomers selling you the nightmare. A whole lot of very confident people acting like they know exactly where this is going…

Futureproof is my attempt to build something more honest.

It’s been years in the making. Meetups, hackathons, film screenings, ethics arguments, half-finished robots, late-night convos and a bunch of people refusing to let the AI story get written only by vendors, doomers and LinkedIn heroes.

On October 28-30, 2026, it lands in Vancouver. Three days at HR MacMillan Space Centre, a planetarium on the water in Vanier Park.

Dates are locked. Venue is locked. Tickets are live. A few brave souls have already bought theirs. This is year one. It will still have fingerprints all over it. That’s the good part.

You don’t need a polished take on AI to belong here. Come excited. Come skeptical. Come with questions. Come argue about the future in person. Just come.

Earlyworm is open now. First-year passes are $650 CAD until August 15. (Yes Canadian dollars…. for a lotta ya the exchange rate is greatly in yer favor!)

Put it on the calendar and start looking at flights.

See you under the dome,

P.S. The crew behind this is BC + AI, the ethical AI nonprofit I’ve been building. Almost three years of monthly meetups, a film festival, hackathon nights, life sciences and education crews publishing actual research, and a consciousness salon that gets weirder every month. Futureproof is that whole scene throwing its doors open for three days.
